We are incredibly excited to welcome Bryant Kyger and his team from Certinet Systems to Convergence Networks. Bryant, a former U.S. Marine, brings with him a rare combination of discipline, technical expertise, and deep community roots in the Yakima Valley. His journey from military service to building one of the region’s most trusted IT firms is a story worth knowing.
From the Corps to the Yakima Valley

Bryant’s path into technology did not begin in a classroom. It began in the United States Marine Corps, where he enlisted in 2007 and trained as a Tactical Networking Specialist. Stationed stateside, he managed satellite communications systems and ran technical support operations in environments where failure was simply not an option.
Upon his honorable discharge, Bryant enrolled at Perry Technical Institute in Yakima on the GI Bill and graduated from the Information Technology and Communication Systems program on the President’s List. From there, he built experience across education and healthcare.
His experience gave him a clear understanding of how technology supports operations and where organizations often face gaps in service and reliability. And through it all, he stayed rooted in Yakima, not because it was convenient, but because it was home.
Founding Certinet Systems: Stumbling into a Solution
By 2021, Bryant had spent years watching Yakima Valley businesses struggle to find quality, local IT support. Every major project seemed to bring in firms from Seattle, Portland, or Spokane. Companies that would parachute in, complete the work, and leave. There was no one staying. No one investing. No one who knew the community.
So, Bryant decided to be that person. He founded Certinet Systems in August 2021, initially as a solo operation. He will be the first to admit he was learning the industry as he went.
“I started a managed services company before I even knew what an MSP was,” he says. “We kind of fumbled into success.“
But success it was. Within months, demand outpaced what one person could deliver. The team grew. Relationships deepened. And in May 2024, Certinet acquired the managed services division of Yakima Networking, a local MSP with over two decades of history, cementing Certinet’s position as a serious, established force in regional IT.
Leadership Forged Under Pressure
Ask Bryant what the Marines gave him, and he does not reach for the usual talking points. He talks about the refusal to accept failure, the ability to dig in when things get hard, and what it means to lead people who are counting on you.
“The failure-is-not-an-option mindset has been a really good driving force,” he says. “We function well out of spite. When someone tells you that you will not succeed, that fuels your fire.“
His team describes him as someone who leads from the front. He will never ask anyone to do something he would not do himself. Perhaps more telling is what his team does not do: in Bryant’s entire career managing people, not a single employee has ever voluntarily left. Several have followed him across three different organizations over more than a decade.
“I’m probably overly protective of my people,” he says.
Jens Lee, Certinet Systems Advisor, says: “Everything about Bryant’s brand is built on relationships and earning trust. He does not see client interactions as transactional. He is just solving a problem for people. And he does what he says he is going to do.“
Client Impact: Turning Chaos into Capability
One of Bryant’s proudest examples is Certinet’s long-running partnership with a local Nonprofit. When the team arrived, the organization’s infrastructure was a patchwork of years of quick fixes, frequent outages, unreliable site connectivity, and an IT department spending all its energy keeping the lights on.
Certinet redesigned its entire network infrastructure from the ground up. The result was not just stability. It was a shift in what the team could focus on. Instead of asking whether one of the client’s sites would be online that day, the client could start asking what they wanted to build next.
Bryant’s focus runs deep into the public sector. Municipal government, law enforcement, and public education are the core verticals where his team has built its expertise and reputation. These are organizations that carry real accountability to real people, a dynamic that suits Bryant’s own standards perfectly.
Why Convergence Networks – And Why Now
Bryant’s decision to join Convergence Networks came down to alignment.
He saw a team that shares his focus on solving problems the right way and building long-term value for clients. He also recognized that Convergence Networks had already built many of the capabilities he had planned to develop over the next several years.
“Convergence Networks today is what I had on my three-to-five-year plan. Everything Convergence Networks is already doing is where I was trying to go.” — Bryant Kyger
This includes access to broader expertise, deeper resources, and advanced capabilities in areas like cybersecurity, modern work, and AI-driven solutions.
For Bryant, this was an opportunity to bring more to his clients while staying rooted in the community he knows well.
Bringing AI and Modern Work to Rural Washington State
One of Bryant’s biggest challenges running an independent MSP in Yakima was a question he could not stop asking: how do you bring enterprise-grade technology to a market that has never had access to it? AI-powered tools, modern work transformation, and advanced cybersecurity practices. These were things large metro firms offered, but that Yakima Valley organizations rarely saw.
That changes now. Convergence Networks’ Intelligent Business Solution practice brings a dedicated team and proven methodology for exactly this kind of work. Bryant’s clients and the broader region gain access to capabilities that were previously out of reach.
“There is just no one in this area offering it,“ he explains. “It is not even on most local companies’ radar. Looking at what Convergence Networks was already building, that was a huge part of why we went this direction.“
For Yakima Valley and Southeast Washington businesses, that access changes the equation entirely.
Rooted in the Community
Bryant Kyger’s presence in the Yakima Valley goes well beyond the office. As a dedicated husband and father, his greatest fulfillment comes from being actively involved in his children’s lives, whether coaching the sports they love or leading by example through service.
Elected president of Upper Valley Little League, Bryant organized and oversaw league operations while Certinet stepped up to sponsor the local fields. That kind of investment is a pattern, not a one-off. He proudly supports local schools, youth sports, and extracurricular activities, reinforcing a company mission centered on giving back where it matters most.
Bryant also contributes his time and expertise as a Program Advisory Committee member at his alma mater, Perry Technical Institute. He now helps guide and mentor the next generation of technology professionals coming up through that same program.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce and is completing the Leadership Yakima program. His team has organized a charity car show and golf tournament as a fundraiser for a local organization in need. On weekends, you might find him out on the water, camping, or gathered around a bonfire with half the office in tow.
“When you are in a rural area, everything is relationship-based,” he says. “We all work together, we all play together, we go through the hard times together, and we win together. That is just how it is.“
What Comes Next
As we look ahead, we are eager to see the positive change Bryant Kyger will continue to bring to Eastern Washington.
